Fleet Management App - Road Safety Systems

To develop a comprehensive mobile application that allows fleet staff to monitor driving behaviour, manage jobs, ensure vehicle compliance, and enhance security, thus improving overall fleet efficiency and safety.

Background

Road Safety Systems provides advanced fleet management services to their clients, aiming to optimise fleet operations and ensure road safety. They required a digital solution that would give fleet drivers and managers real-time access to critical information and tools necessary for efficient and safe fleet management. The app needed to integrate seamlessly with their existing API, offering a user-friendly interface and robust functionality across both iOS and Android platforms.

Road Safety Systems faced several challenges:

• Driver Behaviour Monitoring: Difficulty in tracking and improving driver behaviour based on metrics such as harsh cornering, harsh braking, and speeding.
• Job Management: Need for an efficient way to assign and manage jobs within the fleet.

What we did

The Fleet Management Mobile App was developed using Flutter to provide a cohesive and versatile solution for both Android and iOS platforms. Key features include:

• Driver Behavior Monitoring:
  • Displays statistics on harsh cornering, harsh braking, speeding, and other driving behaviours.
  • Provides detailed information on driving times and patterns.
• Job Management:
  • Allows clients to send out jobs to fleet drivers.
  • Enables drivers to view and accept jobs.
  • Integrates with Apple and Google Maps for navigation to job sites.
• Journey Tracking:
  • Displays maps of journeys taken by the drivers.
  • Offers insights into route efficiency and potential areas for improvement.
• Vehicle Checks:
  • Enables drivers to perform vehicle checks that comply with DVSA standards.
  • Ensures that all vehicles are in optimal condition before use.
• Security Features:
  • Allows setting of security alerts based on vehicle usage schedules.
  • Sends notifications via Firebase if a vehicle is detected moving outside specified times.
  • Provides live location tracking of vehicles on Apple and Google Maps.
